These markings are easily passed to offspring.

Accents

Accents are a lighter marking with a solid or textured edge.

Must be lighter than the base coat.
If you have both accents and Okapi, both must be visible.

Can be hard edged or textured.

Range

Max Range- Light Grey
Suggested Min Range- White

Mask

Mask is a dark marking on the face.

Mask must be darker than the base coat.
Can be hard, textured or soft edged.

Range

Smoke | Mist

Smoke is a marking that Darkens the Head and extremities of the Cainomen with a blurred edge.
Mist is a marking that Lightens the Head and extremities of the Cainomen with a blurred edge.

These genes are not interchangeable they just act similarly.

Must be in the same color range as the base coat.
cannot be entirely Black or White.

Can be textured or soft edged.

Suggested Min Range- Black

Points

Points is a marking that covers the enkee with a brown, tan, or darker version of the base coat.

Points are not affected by Merle.

Can be hard edged or textured.

Can become soft edged in some parts but not a majority of it.

Range

Real Life Example

Sable | Cape

Sable is a dark/black marking that covers the back of the Cainomen.
Cape is a light/white marking that covers the back of the Cainomen.

Sable can be any color or similar to the base coat as long as its darker than the base.
Cape can be any color or similar to the base coat as long as it's lighter than the base.

These genes are not interchangeable they just act similarly.

Can be hard, textured or soft edged.

Max Range- Light Grey
Suggested Min Range- White

Hooded

Hooded is a marking that covers the head and/or neck of the Cainomen.
Cannot be entirely black or white.

Can be darker or lighter than the base coat or be a different color.
Can be Up to 2 Colors.
Can Gradient within the Hooded zone.
Can alternate between Colors to give a bold collar effect.


Can be hard edged or textured.

Suggested Min Range- Black

Real Life Example

Blaze

Blaze is marking that creates broken streaks of color along the body of an Cainomen.

Can be darker or lighter than the base coat or be a different color.
Can have a minor gradient within the same hue.
Can fade into the color underneath it.


Can be hard edged or Textured.

Range

Max Range- Dark Grey
Suggested Min Range- Black

Example

Ringtail

Ringtail is a marking that creates light or dark rings along the Cainomen's tail.

Can be lighter or darker than the base coat of the Cainomen.
Can be both light and dark to create a classic ringtailed lemur look

Can be hard, textured or soft edged.

Range

Suggested minimum Range- White (at least 1 ring visible)

Okapi

Okapi is a marking similar to accents, it creates a light marking along the underside of a Cainomen that tapers off in stripes.

Can be lighter than the base coat and any color (lighter than the base coat.) 
Can have a subtle gradient within the chosen color.


Can be hard edged or textured.

Range

Max Range- Light Grey
Suggested minimum Range- White

Highlight

Highlight lightens the top of a Cainomen.
Must Lighten whatever it covers.

Can be textured or soft edged.

Badger

Dark marks around the eyes and ears of a Cainomen.

Can have varied Opacities to create different effects.


Can be textured or soft edged.

Range

Dirt is a marking that creates dark blotches over the Cainomen.

Cannot be entirely black.


Can be textured or soft edged.

Range

Can appear anywhere on the body.
